1) What this policy coversThis policy applies to all APP BY SNAP Apps. Some Apps include optional features such as Apple Health (HealthKit) integration and AI-powered analysis. The exact features may vary by App.
2) Information we collectDepending on the App and features you use, we may collect and process the following:
A) Information you provide- Profile information: such as height and weight (if you enter it).
- User content: such as meal photos, meal descriptions, notes, and other text you submit.
- Support messages: information you send us when contacting support.
B) Health data (optional)If you enable Apple Health / HealthKit, the App may read and/or write health-related data that you explicitly authorize (for example: dietary energy, nutrients, water, weight). Health data is used only to provide Health features inside the App.
C) Device and diagnostics informationWe may collect technical information needed to operate and improve the Apps, such as:
- app version, device model, OS version, language/region settings,
- crash logs and diagnostic data.
We do not collect precise location unless a specific App feature explicitly requires it and you grant permission.
D) PurchasesIf you purchase a subscription, payments are processed by Apple. We receive purchase status (e.g., active/expired) to unlock premium features. We do not receive your full payment card details.
3) How we use informationWe use information to:
- provide App functionality and personalize calculations,
- generate nutrition analysis, estimates, and recommendations,
- maintain and improve the Apps (including troubleshooting and security),
- respond to support requests.
4) AI features and third-party AI servicesSome Apps provide AI-powered features (for example, food analysis, macro estimation, recommendations). These features may use third-party AI services.
A) What data is sent
If you enable AI analysis, the App may send to an AI provider:
- meal photo (if you capture or select one),
- meal text (if you enter it),
- profile values such as height and weight (to calculate personalized results),
- basic app settings (language/units) to format results.
B) Who receives the data
Depending on the feature and the App configuration, data may be sent to:
- OpenAI (via the OpenAI API), and/or
- DeepSeek (via the DeepSeek API).
C) Consent (permission)
AI processing is optional. Before the first time any personal data is sent to a third-party AI service, the App presents a clear disclosure (what data is sent, who receives it, and why) and asks for your permission. If you do not consent, the App will not send your data for AI processing and you can continue using non-AI/manual features.
D) Storage and retention
- We do not sell your personal data.
- When AI is used, your data is transmitted directly from your device to the selected AI provider to process your request.
- We do not store AI request content on our own servers.
- AI providers may process and retain data according to their own policies and applicable law.
5) Sharing of informationWe share information only as needed to provide the Apps:
- with AI providers (OpenAI / DeepSeek) when you enable AI features,
- with service providers used for app operations (e.g., crash reporting/diagnostics if enabled in a specific App),
- for legal and safety reasons when required by law or to protect users and the Apps.
We do not sell your personal information.
6) SecurityWe use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7) Children’s privacyOur Apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8) Your choicesDepending on the App, you can:
- enable/disable AI features in the App settings,
- enable/disable HealthKit permissions in iOS settings,
- delete app data using in-app options (if available) and/or by uninstalling the App.
9) Changes to this policyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above.
